Getting back into the swing of things

Hey Everyone,

It’s been awhile since I have posted, so I figure it’s about time to start this again.  The back surgery went great, and now I’m slowly healing.  I’ve had a great deal of support from my family and friends who all pitched in to help me while I was laid up.  So with all that being said I really haven’t been working on the website or taking part in any webinar’s.  If you have any great information that I might have missed please feel free to contact me and share it.

This week will be a washout since thanksgiving is tomorrow and I need to get all prep work completed before the family and friends come over to enjoy a good meal.

Does anyone out there have any good ideas they would like to share with our audience about how to generate traffic for their websites?  Are there any products that you would like to share with us?

Well I’m going to keep this short and sweet today.

Thanks,

Joseph Martin

Business Plan Writing

Hey everyone,

Today let’s talk about business plan, why it’s important and how to create one easily.

What is a business plan?

A business plan is a document that is a brief description for each of the following 10 categories.  Remember you want to keep it short and sweet, let’s say 140 characters or less.

1.       One sentence describing your business.  (Value Proposition)
2.       The “problem” that your business is responding to.  (Market Need)
3.       Description of your products, remember pictures are always a great thing here. (Your Solution)
4.       Is there anyone else in this market?  If so then how is your product different or better? (Competition)
5.       Who will be buying your product?  (Target Market)
6.       How much will it cost you to produce this product? How much will you sell your product for?  How long before you will make a profit?  (Financials: Budgeting & Forecasting)
7.       How will you market your product? (Sales Channels & Marketing Activities)
8.       What is your business working towards? (Milestones)
9.       Who are you and why are you qualified to run this venture? (Management Team)
10.   This section is optional: How much money will you need in order to grow your business and how will you use these funds? (Funding Needs & Use of Funds)
Now that we know what needs to be included in our business plan let’s go ahead and break these down, remember keep them short about 140 characters.
Value Proposition: What is the gist of your business?  The 140 character limit will help you hone in on what you do and why you’re special at doing it.
Market Need: Remember no market need = no needs for your product.  If you’re not sure then ask, how hard would it be for you to ask potential clients what they think about your product?
Your Solution: This is where you will describe your product and make it shine.  Ask yourself this question, “what would you tell someone who asked you what do you sell?”
Target Market: You need to be specific on who you are targeting your product too (ex: gender, geography, age, etc.)
Competition: Think about where your customers are currently buying or will be buying from.  You need to know your competition.
Funding Needs: You will more than likely need funding whether its $1 or even $5,000, be sure you understand how these funds will help you.  Also when you will be able to pay off the debt.
Sales Channels: Where are you planning on selling your product or services?
Marketing Activities: How are you going to market your product or service so you can get cliental?
Financial Projections: How much will it cost you to produce and market your product?  How many products are planning on selling in a certain amount of time?
Milestones: this is where you want to tell what you have accomplished so far, and what goals you are hoping to achieve.
Management Team: You always want to brag about yourself and your team, well here is the place you finally get to show off all your skills and what makes you the best. You also need to address any roles that are missing from your team.
So after reading this I sure hope that you feel more confident about your business plan writing skills.  Now go ahead and sit down, try to clear your head and write your business plan.

Thank you,
JPM

Back from Surgery

Hey guys and gals,

I'm finally back at it after having back surgery last week.  Let me tell you, I've missed writing for you, giving you helpful information on your business building ideas and strategies.  Today I'm going to keep it short and sweet, since I am just getting back into the swing of things.  If you haven't already I suggest that you view the topic entitled "Sales Pith", you will find a great wealth of knowledge in that topic to help you earn some money on the Internet.

I'll talk to you later,

Sales Pitch

Hello everyone,

I hope that today is a great day for you.  Let me first start off by saying, I’m currently in surgery and I will hopefully be back at it tomorrow 11-6-13.  Now down to business, I know my last post really laid a lot of information on you.  So let me make this blog more like a sales pitch even though I know you guys don’t want to hear it, but once I am finished here I hope you will understand that this company we support is the real deal.

Many of you who have been in this business for a while now must have heard this statement, “The money is in the list”.  Wow that statement is very vague in its meaning.  Let me try to break it down for you, your list is your customers or potential customers that have opted in and shown interest in your business.  So yes the money is in your list, but most people just do not understand this.  What a lot of people will do is send out a great deal of spam or tons of offers to their list.  This is not a great way to be treating you tribe or followers.  You want to treat them right and then your list will literal turn in gold.  So now that you have them we need to treat them more like diamonds.  So if you haven’t already go out and learn the “Lingo” for the niche you are thinking about starting your business in so you can talk the talk and walk the walk.

If you join the link that I have at the bottom of the blog then you will receive the four primary functions for your business and they are:

  1. Provide training, support, and community.
  2. Provide your “infrastructure”. (Web sites, follow up systems, tracking, call center, advertising placement, etc.)
  3. Serve as a “feeder” product to find customers who may be interested in your primary “top tier” offering.
  4. “Fund your proposal” by automating the sale of other products to help “monetize your list”.

Now go ahead and take some time to reread the list again.  It would literally cost you thousands of dollars and an untold amount of hours to create this.  This company already contains everything you need to get your business up and running.  The biggest and most important thing is that they will teach you how to use it as well.

So guys and gals I urge you to at least take a look at this business that has help our business become success, you will not regret it at all.

Thank you,

JPM

Products

Hey everyone,

I hope the day has found you well.  Today let’s discuss products and what different types there are.  To begin most products will fall into these different categories:

·         Physical Product and deliverables.

o   (Computers, phone, homes, cars etc…)

·         Digital products and goods.

o    (Kindle book, software, apps etc...)

·         Information Based Products typically not available as a physical product.

o    (Learning course, “Hot To’ download products, making money xyz industries...)

·         Mom and pop services and business

o    (local small business selling to the local peoples want and needs)

·         Large Corporation and franchises

o    (Fortune 500’s, $50 million + yearly revenue etc…)

Remember that physical products always carry an “End Result” everything does.  So you as a business owner need to constantly keep that in your head.  Now let’s ask some questions to ourselves, what is the user’s end result?  What are there pains, problems, wants and needs?  These are questions that you need to consider when starting the business.

Let’s think about this.

You can buy a brand new Hyundai Elantra for under $17,000. No doubt it will get you anywhere you need to go, no problem. Yet a new Mercedes CLS 550 Coupe costs $72,500. More than 4x’s the cost, yet it does essentially the same thing! Why? You could reason: quality, superior design and craftsmanship, better engine, will last longer… That’s the rational excuse most may use when they buy a Mercedes. But it’s really an emotionally driven decision, such as… I’ll be seen as successful, accomplished, I’ll attract my ideal mate in this car, it reflects my lifestyle etc. Once again, there is always logic and emotion based reasoning on any purchase.

Let’s now talk about end results that are logically and emotionally based.  Now I’m going to take a very simple item that we all use Shampoo.  The logic behind it is: Cleans my hair, it’s a habit, and it’s acceptable.  Now remember there is an emotion side, so here it is: People won’t think I stink, opposite sex will be attracted to my odor. Stinky people are viewed as disgusting and poor and I don’t want to be portrayed that way…

Now there is also opportunity based products or also known as information products which are made in order to get some result through the product you are purchasing.  There are different types of opportunity products but they always fit into one of these three:

  • Business, Make Money, and Investment Opportunities (stocks and bonds, franchises, MLM, online marketing products, etc.)
  • Relationship Opportunities (double your dating; meet your dream mate, better sex, online dating and advice etc.)
  • Health and Fitness Opportunities (Lose weight fast, put on more muscle, vegan diets, gluten free lifestyle etc.)

Why are these markets so competitive?  It’s because people want these things the most and you as a business owner need to go where the people are.  Remember the big 3; Health, Relationships, and money are what you as business owners want to stick close too.  In order to do this we need to obtain some leverage over the bigger players don’t we?  Well let’s niche down a topic within the big 3, let go ahead and do weight loss:

·         Weight loss (very broad)

·         Weight loss for women (broad)

·         Weight loss for brides (niched down)

·         Kettle bell workouts for women (niched down)

·         Lose weight fast after pregnancy (niched down)

So constantly think to yourself what do people “desire”?  Not just what they want but what their emotions are pulling them towards.

Well I sure hope that you guys learned a little from this post.

Thank you,

JPM

Why 85% Of Franchises Succeed While Most Other Businesses Fail

Hello Everyone,

Today let’s talk about Why 85% Of Franchises Succeed While Most Other Businesses Fail.  Let’s start off with, it’s extremely risky to try and start your very own business.  People rarely consider all that goes into creating a business, and that is why only less than 20% of them make it, and out of that 20% even less will stay open for more than a year.  This is one of the biggest reasons that franchises will make it over a mom and pop startup company.

When you are looking to start a company you want to look into franchises.  You want to make sure that the system has a successful track record.  So you don’t want to be out there joining these groups who claim to make you thousands, you want to see actual claims and testimonies.  You also want to be part of something that will give you constant training and help to ensure your success.  You don’t want to go out and pay all this money for a program that will not even give back to you when you need help.

So now let’s take a moment to think about some of the most well-known brands you use, the restaurants you eat at even the stores you shop.  Are the store and restaurants franchised or independent?  Why do you think that most of them are franchised?  It’s because they have a proven business model that works.  Banks are very skeptical to give money to independent business owners because of the great risk involved, whereas franchises they will lend all day long, because they have a record of success.

Now think about the local business in your town or the next town over.  How’s long do you think they work each day?  Is the owner even working there?  Is the owner able to leave on a vacation and not have to worry about the store?  Or are they chained to their store?  These are some of the things that people do not think about when they start a business.

Here’s another example, how many times have you seen a local business with great service or products that six months or even a year down the road have their doors closed?  Are you now starting to understand where I’m coming from when I say that it’s better to purchase a franchise then to start up yourself?  There is proven power in a franchise model.  Yes they may cost more in the beginning but in the long haul they end up making you money.

Thank you,

JPM

Magic number

Hello Everyone,
Today I would like to discuss upselling, and business models.  Do you as a business owner realize that most online business or stores have a top-tier product?  Think about this, every time you order something from McDonald’s what do they ask you?  They always follow-up your order with, “Would you like fries with that?”  This is McDonald’s way up selling you a top-tier product.  Who would have thought that that those words could help make them as popular as they are today, just by making you buy the top-tier item.  Now think about other places you go where they offer top-tier products, this is what you would like for your business as well.
Now that we have a feel for what other business are doing to upsell you lets discuss business models.  You must start from the end and work your way to the beginning.  This means do not worry about traffic, instead focus on the product that you want to sell and see if there is a market for it.  If there is no market then your business will not succeed.  So your first step is to do some research on the economics of the area you are trying to get into.  After you have done this then you want to focus on your targeted traffic, which will result in sales + profit.
The most important number to you as a business owner needs to know is the Average Visitor Value.  If you have not done so by now I highly suggest you use Google Analytics, It free and very simple to use.  Once you are a member you will be able to see your unique visitors plus average visitor value.  You want to always start measuring even if you are not making any money. I’m going to show you how to calculate your average visitor value:
1)
Leads

X
2)
Conversion ratio (those who bought & those you didn’t

=

Customers

X
3)
Frequency of Transactions

X
4)
Average Transaction size

=

Total Revenue

X
5)
Margins (% you keep)

=

PROFIT

This is one of the numbers you as business owners need to completely be aware of everyday.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me and I can discuss with you how to go about figuring this formula out.

Thank you,
JPM

Spam

Hey guys,

I don't know about you but I'm getting tired of receiving all this spam in my inbox.  Every time I turn around there is another get rich quick scheme that really is another way for you to lose money.  If you really dig deeper into them you will find that they are all connected somehow.  That is why you should never click “Yes” right away, and plus if you really want to do the program why not click the close button, most of the time they will give you a reduced rate.

There is this new program that everyone is pushing and it’s called empower network.  I’m not going to lie it sounded like a great idea to us over here at Cfm Jpm, so we spent the $25 for the blogging software.  Well come to find out it was just another affiliate program where they wanted us to hack there products.  Then on top of the $25 a month they want you to pay another $18 per month just to sell their product, but it doesn’t stop there, you have to pay for their training after training.  Believe me we checked it out and after the first 30 minutes we were on the phone asking for a refund because it was not what we thought it was going to be.  They were very professional and refunded us our money, which we were very grateful for.

See if we had done more research into the product we would have discovered that it was something that would not work for our company.  This is why we are trying to help you as entrepreneurs, succeed in what you are looking for instead of wasting your time and money.  That is also why we are asking what it is you are looking for from us, we need your input so we can better serve you.

What would you guys think if we started a member’s page to our website and created a list of video’s and forums where you could go to try to get some help with starting up or running your business?   Also if you need us to sponsor an event that you have coming up by all means contact us and we will post it on our site along with send it to all the people on our email lists to get your event out there.

All of us here at Cfm Jpm Enterprises wish you guy the best and hope you have had a productive and profitable week.  Remember if you don’t put 110% into your business you will never succeed.

Thank you,

 JPM

efficiently

Hey Guys,
Today I want to talk about efficiently, and how you always want to be looking for ways to improve your business.  While I was out today shopping I walked into a local co-op and was completely amazed at how inefficiently they were running the business.  This is how they ran the business, you walked through the store and figure out what you wanted to purchase, now that you have your purchases in mind you go to the counter and purchase the items.  Here comes the kicker, they use a walkie-talkie to tell the employees what you would like and they put it into a carriage for you.  I could not believe they ran the business like that, can you imagine how much money they are losing on employees doing tasks over again.

You as a business owner need to constantly be looking for ways to make your business run more efficiently.  Look at the ways your employees do their daily tasks and see if you can improve the way it’s done anyway, even look at yourself see if you can improve what u do.  There is nothing known as "free", your time is worth money and the more time you waste doing a task you are losing money.  So guys you always be aware of ways you can improve your business.

Every time I’m out I find myself looking at the way people are doing their jobs and thinking about ways it could be done easier and more efficiently.  Look at subway; they have pre-sliced meat and cheese whereas mom and dad shops will cut the meat for you as they are making the sandwich.  You will be amazed at how much people waste their time when it could be done more efficient.

Thank you for readying our posts,

JPM

Revisite your website

Today while I was starting my day looking over all the number like I do every morning while sipping my coffee I realized that I am still not getting the amount of traffic I wish to be.  So I stepped back and reevaluated our website.  While I was going through the pages I realized that when people come to my website they have no idea of who is talking with them.  So what I did is I decided to revamp the “About Us” page, and added a picture of myself along with a short bio.   I thought maybe by doing this it will help make our visitors more likely to want to engage in conversation because now they can put a face to the name.

I don’t know about you but I like to do my business face to face.  In our line of work it’s difficult because we are dealing online.  Even though technology is vastly improving every day, this economy is not making easier for people to just go out and buy a new computer, or a webcam.  That is why I decided to just add a quick picture of myself to the site, to hopefully get us more business.  As long as you are honest with your customers and remember don’t treat people as customers you want to treat them like family.  Remember without them the customer, you won’t have a business, and without the business you won’t make any money.  This is a circle and if you treat people badly they will reflect that, remember 90% of your traffic you will be getting is through word of mouth.

So I suggest for everyone who is reading this to take a step back and look at their website and see if there is a way you can make yourself look more professional and customer orientated.  We are currently doing an update on our website http://cfm-jpm-enterprises.com to make it more customers orientated.  We are thinking about posting all of our secrets to becoming a better business on our site somewhere, we haven’t figured out where just quit yet.  Along with being an online marketing company we also want to help our customers get their business up and running without having to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars like we did to get up and running.  This is what I’m talking about when I was talking about treating your customers like family, by helping them out we can grow together and even make a partnership with our customers so they will refer us to their family and friends.

So I guess to wrap things up tonight let’s do a quick recap on what I talked about tonight.  Take a close look at your website and see if it’s a website you would feel comfortable doing business with?  See if there is anyway you can make customers want to come to your website for there needs.  Remember treat your customers like family and they will return to you in future.

Thanks Guys

Writing Articles So You Can Get Traffic

Good afternoon everyone,

I was thinking today we can discuss how to get some traffic to your website through writing articles on the internet.  This topic might sound a scary but it really is not that bad at all, I’ll admit I was scared when I first started writing articles.  I think one of our biggest fears are that no one is going to read what we have to say, I’m not going to lie it is hard when you first start out writing.  If you already have a blog, then consider about expanding upon a topic, remember people are always looking for an answer to all there questions.

If you are blogging with a daily message that’s about 500-700 words, and also contains a valuable lesson that you might have learned from that day, then people want to read it.  I know the whole 500-700 words might sound like a lot but once you have been doing it for a while then it becomes easier.  It was difficult for us here at Cfm Jpm, but we decided to help you guys out and give you some of the information we got from paying hundreds of dollars to obtain from various companies.  These blog post we are doing is to help you guys get started without spending hundreds of dollars.

Ok so since we now know how long are typical blog should be then let us move on to the next step in this process to get traffic to our site for free.  If you are not a member of Twitter then I strongly suggest you go there now and sign up.  If you would like too then you can add our company and follow us at @cfmjpm, we are constantly posting new topics that can help you with your business.  Also if you are signing up for the first time or if you are just now starting to use your Twitter account then I have a task for you for the next 30 day add 50 people to your following list.  Yes 50 people is a lot but consider this, after 30 days you will have 1,500 new people who are potential new clients for your online business.  You should be adding people who are into your niche just like yourself, or even family members.

Alright so we have written our blogs, and we have started adding people to twitter, we need to put the two together.  Every time you make a blog tweet it to all your followers so they can go and check it out.  I know I said in the title, “writing articles so you can get traffic” well now I’m going to tie it all together.  You need to go out to a search engine and do a search on free article submissions, this should get you a list of places you can post your blog as an article.  Don’t forget to include your website link at the bottom of all your articles, so you can get free traffic back to your site.

This process has helped our company get more traffic ourselves.  Remember the more time you put into your company the quicker it should help you make money.  If you guys have any questions at all please comment on the topics and we will help you out.  This whole blogging thing is new to us as well, so we are here to help you get answers.  The only way we can help you get the answer your looking for is to ask us your questions.

Trying to find your business idea

Hey everyone,
I hope you all have had as great of a day as we had here at Cfm Jpm Enterprises.  Today I’m going to discuss how to come up with business ideas that you are passionate for and will enjoy doing while making money.  This process can take a few days for you to complete so don’t rush take your time.
The first thing you need to do is go somewhere quiet.  This means no television going in the background, no family members disturbing you either.  You want a place where you can be alone with your thoughts.
The next step is to have 10 blank pages with you so you can write down your top 20 favorite things.  Yes I said 20, uses both sides of the paper to help save a tree.  These lists can include anything at all, even if it seems foolish write it down because you never know there might be a niche out there for it.
If you are having trouble coming up with any ideas or just are saying,” there’s nothing I like.” Well consider the following question and see if they help the juices flow from your mind to your pen:
·         What do you love?
·         How do you spend your free time?
·         What do you watch on television?
·         What gets you excited?
·         What did you enjoy growing up?
·         What do you talk about with your friends?

Now see were those question so hard to find 20 of your top favorite things?  This exercise we are doing right now is what most successful business men do when they are trying to find a new way to make money.
Now the next step is to under your 20 top favorite things to do your now going to write at least 10 ways you can make money in each category.  Remember this is not a race to finish but to actually think about the ways you could make money from these ideas.  I’ll give you an example:
I wrote down on one of my sheets SOCCER
Then under that I wrote down the following:
·         Coach soccer
·         Open a soccer equipment rental place
·         Work for a professional soccer league
·         Referee soccer
·         Start a league
·         Open a soccer supply store online
·         Create videos on how to play soccer
·         Make an E-book on the rules of soccer
·         Etc…

Now that you have made you list now what you want to do is actually think about the ideas you came up with to make money and see if there is actually a market for it.  When you have finished going through the lists you should have about 5 or so business ideas left on your lists.  Remember you need to like these ideas A LOT!

Some of you might be asking why do I have to love the business I’m about to start?  Well I’ll tell you some good reasons:
1.       You might as well be happy while you’re making money,
2.       The excitement of starting a business will wear off eventually,
3.       The passion for the niche will keep you going even when things are getting tough,

Well I sure hope you find this helpful in deciding what you would like your business to be.
I’ll talk with you guys soon,

Online Marketing from a Beginners eyes

Hello everyone,

I would like to take a few minutes to tell you about my beginnings in the online marketing world.  Let me first start out by telling you a little about myself, I am 31 years old, wife and 2 kids.  I use to work in the construction field as an electrician, until one day at work my life changed forever.  At work back in 2010, I was on a job site working my normal 7-3 work day, when I was asked by a co-worker for some help.  Well long story short he got a man lift stuck in a place it did not belong and my supervisor ask for my help to get it unstuck.  Well I was more than happy to help out my brothers.  My supervisor told me to get in front of the man lift and pull (yes I did say pull) While he pushed the lift and the operator drove it forward.  Now I know what you all are thinking, “Boy this guy must have rocks in his head or something”, and yes I probably do but I was in the army before I came to work in the construction field so I was taught to follow orders and not ask why.  So I had him repeat that he wanted me to pull, which again he said yes.  Well when I was in front pulling the machine it gave way and ran over my leg.  The doctors keep telling me that I’m lucky to still have my leg attached, that I am one lucky guy etc.  So I went through the lawyers battle and everything (which I am still in court by the way), then one day I get a call from my attorney and he tells me that my benefits ran out and that now he’s trying to get me partially benefits which the workman’s comp company denied.  So now I have a family to feed and no money to do it with.  So I went out searching for how I can start an online business.

Well to start off I was probably where you are right now at this moment.  Looking through articles upon articles about how to start a business online, let me tell you it can get overwhelming.  So I finally sat down one day and said to myself that I need to stay focused on the goal I set for myself that day, “To learn how to start an online business.”  I went online and search countless websites for online business ideas, and let me tell you there is a great deal of companies out there very willing to take your money from you.

I finally found a website that I felt comfortable looking into more.  The thing is guys if you don’t feel comfortable then DON”T DO IT!  Always follow your gut feeling on these things and don’t get caught up in all the gimmicks.  You will see websites claiming to get you millions overnight along with all the cars and women/Guys you want.  Don’t buy into it, if it seems too good to be true then it probably is.  The site I found took me through a step a day and taught me really good information that I could use to start my business.  They even setup the program so you can’t jump ahead and miss important information in previous lessons.  I went through the program and guess what they actually still talk to me if I have any questions at all, which is almost unheard from now-a-days.

Well know that I’ve chewed your ears off (or should I say your eyes).  I hope you will continue to follow my blogs because I plan on sharing my stories on the road to my online business.

Thank you,
